Mind Lift Psychology is hosting a mental health workshop to support the community in raising awareness about mental health challenges and strategies for wellbeing.
As psychologists, we know the profound impact mental health has on our lives and relationships. Often, the stigma around mental health can prevent people from seeking the help they need.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Group
Group therapy offers opportunities for support and learning that are absent when practising alone. Mind Lift Psychology understands the importance of feeling supported by others and the value of in person guidance on mental health strategies. That’s why we have put together an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy group to support you.
This program is designed for adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, offering support through group-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dates: Fortnightly on Wednesdays (02.04.25, 16.04.25, 30.04.25, 14.05.25, 28.05.25)
Time: 5:00PM – 6:00PM
Location: 341 Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill
Cost: $50 (eligible for Medicare rebate $21.90 under a Mental Health Care Plan)
This group is for anyone who:
- Wants to understand the learn or deepend their understanding of Acceptance and Committment Therapy.
- Wants an in person practice of strategies.
- Is looking to connect with other like minded people.
- Wants to invest time in their own mental health and mental wellbeing.
Your Facilitator:
Samantha Wally will guide you through this group. She is a provisional psychologist under supervision on placement at Mind Lift Psychology.
Program Content:
Participants will be guided through the following therapeutic practices:
- Developing Mindfulness Skills: Learning to focus attention on the present moment without judgment.
- Cultivating Acceptance: Embracing one’s experiences, including emotions, thoughts, urges, and external circumstances.
- Enhancing Psychological Flexibility: Utilising cognitive defusion techniques to change how one relates to thoughts, reducing the impact of unhelpful cognitive patterns.
- Identifying Personal Values: Connecting with what is truly meaningful and important in life.
- Aligning Actions with Values: Committing to behaviours that support living a full, rich, and purposeful life.
What to Expect in each session:
- Grounding exercise to settle into the session.
- Check in on your personal ACT practice.
- Education on an ACT exercise.
- ACT exercise practice.
- Take home resources.
- Q&A
What to Bring:
- Cushion, blanket or yoga mat for comfort as some exercises require you to sit down for a long period of time.
