Mental Health Workshop
Mind Lift Psychology understands the importance of maintaining good mental health in our busy lives. That’s why we have put together a mental health workshop to help you get ahead before things get worse.
Date: Saturday, 28th September 2024
Time: 8:00AM – 9:00AM
Location: Grip + Grit Fitness, 328 Harcourt St, Teneriffe QLD 4005
Cost: Free (Registration Required)
About the Workshop:
Mental health is different to having a mental disorder. It’s about maintaining psychological and emotional well-being, which enables you to cope with everyday stressors, work productively, and contribute to your community. Good mental health is not just the absence of mental illness; it’s a state of balance that allows you to thrive.
This workshop has been designed to teach you the warning signs to look out for that indicate your mental health is declining, such as irritability, fatigue, or a persistent feeling of overwhelm. You’ll learn practical techniques that you can integrate into your daily life to cultivate a greater sense of calm, focus, and emotional balance.
This workshop is for anyone who:
- Wants to understand the basics of mental health and well-being.
- Feels stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed by daily responsibilities.
- Is looking for practical tools to manage stress and improve emotional resilience.
- Wishes to support friends, family, or colleagues who may be struggling with their mental health.
Meet Your Facilitators:
Jasmin Singh and Brinda Kashyap, practitioners at Mind Lift Psychology, will guide you through this workshop. Both have helped countless individuals manage stress, anxiety and depression, and they are passionate about promoting mental wellness in the community.
What to Expect:
- Introduction to Mental Health: Understanding mental health and its importance in daily life, and differentiating between mental health and mental disorders.
- Identifying the Warning Signs: Recognising symptoms, common triggers, and risk factors that impact mental well-being.
- Practical techniques for Mental Wellness: You will learn mindfulness exercises used to reduce stress and increase focus, breathing techniques to promote relaxation, and tips to improve sleep. This is the practical part of the workshop!
